- 비운동성 - 그람 양성 구균 종류는 혈청학 타입(랜스필드 그룹 A ~ T), 혈액 한천 배지에서 배양될 때 용혈성 작용(α,β, γ)이나 박테리아성 바이러스에 대한 반응(phage type 1 ~ 86)에 의해 분류됨.
- 일반적으로 호기성 균이고 몇몇은 혐기성 균이며, 몇몇 종들은 용혈성이고 다른 것은 비용혈성이다.
